CCP Team 2011!!
Hello all!
Since my last post God has continued to work in sweet ways through support. My last post (March 4th) God had graciously raised up $2,381 out of the $5,500 I need. Well.... we just had our third CCP meeting this past Saturday (the 19th) and our goal was to have raised $4,000 by that date. Up to that point in my support raising I had never reached the goals we had set forth. It was really neat to see our Heavenly Father grow a peace within my heart about support raising after our second meeting in which I was about $1,700 short of our goal. A verse that has been continually coming up in my heart is:
1 Thessalonians 5: 24 "He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it."
Its a short verse, but so sweetly to the point. God has graciously been whispering in my ear " Beloved, I have called you to South Africa. Please trust that I am faithful and I will get you there!" WOW Thank You Jesus :)

So, I am sure you are wondering: "Okay Alicia, so how much do you have in hand??" lol Well, our last meeting (March 19th) I had in hand a totally of $4,426!! AHH It really does bring me to worship, even as I write that, because I can honestly look back and say wow God I have no idea where this money came from, except from You!! I love that He has been raising this support in a way that does NOT allow me to boast at all in myself, but only in the cross!

Lastly, our last CCP meeting was a very special meeting because it was our parents meeting! Right before all the parents (including my parents YAY) arrived at World Gospel (the church ISU attends) our team prayed for the meeting. It was so neat to see God hear our prayers and answer each of them in abundance! When our parents began to arrive at the church, I could tell there was a little tension in the air; after all these parents were about to see their children off to another country, I would be nervous too if I was a parent :). Then as the meeting progressed and the Spirit spoke sweetly through Wally (aka Kyle Wallace) I could see each parents' heart begin to soften. By the end of our meeting we went outside in front of the church to take our CCP team picture and it was like we were being photographed by the paparazzi LOL All the parents were lined up behide the person taking our picture, with their cell phones out taking pictures!! I love it pahaha. It honestly, to me, was just a sweet example of God answering our prayers! That may seem like a weird statement, but honestly I could tell on each of their faces that they were excited/proud of us! So neat!

Thank you all so much for your continued support!

Totsiens!

Post Drie

Wow! So it has been far too long since my last update! I apologize for this!
So before I begin the update about support, I want to take some time to share something truly sweet and amazing! Almost two weeks ago, the Lord sweetly interceded into my dad's life!! Ah I can't even begin to explain how amazing it was to hear him (my dad, Jeff) explain that he accepted Christ into his life as his Lord and savior! Dad, if you are reading this I love you so very much and am extremely excited to see God move in your life (as I have already seen Him begin:) ). This is my prayer for you: Paul says it the best!
"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:9-14!

Okay, so now that I have shared that amazing news I feel like support is so small compared to that lol :) But, it has still been extremely sweet and growing! God has been showing me sin in the area of trust. More specifically how I do not trust Him with things in my life, one thing in particular being support. I focus on the huge amount of $5,500 and think "God how are you going to do this?!". He has shown me I lack trust, because I keep believing that I have something to do with raising this support! HA In reality He does call me to be faithful in sending out letters and following up on the letters via calls or meetings; however that is it! In the end Jesus is the One pulling on each person's heart to give! :) Its very freeing when I trust that sweet promise. When I begin to trust (by the grace of God through His Spirit) that He is the One bringing in the money and not man, it really takes my fear away of and frees me up! I currently have, in hand, $2,381 and promised around $3,500 :) God is moving and using who He wants!

Some verses I have been clinging to are: Jeremiah 17:5 and 1 Thessalonians 5:24
I want to end with the promise in 1 Thessalonians 5:24 "The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. " Amen!

Until next time, totsiens (goodbye)
